Ain Dubai is the world’s largest Ferris wheel. Embedor’s Xnode Smart Sensors continuously monitor its 192 cables.

Construction and operation of large physical structures can be dangerous. Embedor’s sensors continually analyze the state of cables by estimating cable tension. Cable tension monitoring is applicable to bridges, Ferris wheels, cellular towers. The technology provides:

  • Sensors to measure wind- or environment-caused cable vibration
  • Compute mode shapes and cable tension force
  • On-demand (e.g. while tensioning during construction) and periodic monitoring

Embedor’s technology was deployed to ensure the safety of Ain Dubai, the world’s tallest observation wheel, during construction. The technology continued to be used to monitor its safety during operation. Ain Dubai has been closed indefinitely since April 2022 due to officially undisclosed reasons.
